What if my application is rejected?
If we can't verify your credentials (invalid accreditation, expired insurance, etc.), the application fee is retained — it covered our specialist time and database queries. If we decline for capacity reasons (your category slot is full in your city), your fee is refunded in full.
Can I apply for multiple service categories?
Yes. One business can hold Preferred status in multiple categories (e.g. Fire Safety + Gas Installation). Each category is a separate vetting review + a separate per-city fee, but the application form lets you list all your services.
Which cities can I be Preferred in?
Cape Town is live now. Johannesburg, Durban, and Stellenbosch roll out through 2026. We don't cap slots per city — every vendor who passes verification gets listed. Ranking within a city is driven by customer ratings, not by slot scarcity.
How does the customer rating system work?
After every job STRLCS refers to you, the property owner rates the work. Ratings stay private but influence how many referrals you get next month. Consistently high-rated vendors climb the referral list; underperformers rotate out. Peer credibility, not marketing spend, decides who gets the next lead.
Do I have to be exclusive to STRLCS?
No. You keep running your business normally. STRLCS referrals are additional lead flow, not a replacement. But your accreditation must be valid and current — expired credentials mean immediate suspension from the Preferred list until they're renewed. That's the barrier that makes the badge worth carrying.
